So, if you are really serious about your hunting gear, then this device is perfect for you! But first, let’s share our views!

Review

The Redfield has a pretty interesting history, which speaks volumes about its quality. Back in the 70’s, they were regarded as high-end producers of scopes, made in Denver, Colorado until 1998. Between this year and 2008, there was a huge gap in the production line with no scopes made, until these were bought by Leopold.

Nowadays their scopes are imported and marked as “Made in the Philippines”. In this regard, the scope’s quality is far better than anything you have seen come out of China.

As mentioned earlier, the quality of the scope is outstanding. One really cool feature is that it has a built-in rangefinder, showing you how far away the target is. Using the scope will always show you the distance, how great is that?

Packaging

We believe you are really anxious to see what’s inside, so let’s unbox this Redfield revolution. The cardboard box measures 12.5 x 2.4 x 2.0 inches. The scope itself has a weight of 13.6 ounces and a length of 11.5 inches. The Accu-Range Reticle guide comes with the package, which contains great information about the reticle features and functions, which is great because they offer some starting points.

On the other hand, the scope comes with no sun shade or scope covers – you might need to get the scope covers yourself. At a close-up, you’ve got the magnification adjustment, windage, elevation and the objective adjustment, all are very smooth and simple to use. The adjustment charts are also really simple to use, you just drag and click, which makes them very easy to set.

Design and Durability

The Redfield Revenge crossbow scope features a matte black finish that blends in with just about any rifle and crossbow, making it more than just a mechanical fit for your weapon.  To answer your question, the scope is nitrogen-filled, made out of a single milled piece of aircraft aluminum, which makes it shockproof and extremely durable.

The waterproof, fogproof and shockproof features will impress you and might save you a lot of repair costs in the future. Before considering a purchase, you should always make sure that the scope’s warranty gives you solid coverage; this is a major consideration due to all the competition. But guess what? We thought you might ask, and we are happy to say that the Redfield comes with lifetime warranty.

The scope is easy to mount, calibrate and adjust, in order for you to concentrate on the target and not on the scope. We can definitely say that these scopes have no issues with glare, also having a design that also seems to be very durable. What is also great, is that these scopes come with ample eye relief, and we all know how important that is.

Unique Features

The magnification is from 2x to 7x featuring a scope with a 4-Plex Reticle for adjusting your aim at the range. This gives you plenty of zooming power.

This having been said, the magnification on this scope is quite impeccable, keeping the target clear on sight even out to its maximum range. This high-quality scope allows a parallax focus at 40 yards, and it also offers a great view of the target for simple target acquisition.

The Redfield is multi-coated for high light transmission and clarity and provides an excellent and clear picture of your target.  The multi-coated lenses allow a huge light transmission, which means you’ll have pristine clarity at different distances. This scope also offers up to 3.5 inches of eye relief which makes it great for any level of expertise, but we love the nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed housing. It is also easy to use with most crossbows on the market, or even with rifles of any caliber, which means it’s a really versatile device.

The Redfield Revenge scopes are performing well in low light and you shouldn’t question accuracy with them. With 80 clicks of both windage and elevation adjustment, they offer more than most scopes in this price range.

What is also great is that this Redfield scope is giving you a clear, bright-side picture in dense foggy weather. The linear field of view is between 43.1 inches at 100 yards for the 2x, and 13.2 inches at 100 yards for the 7x, which is pretty nice and wide.

Value for Money and Guarantee

With a functional design, the Redfield has great optical clarity and numerous reticle choices. This scope offers a great amount of durability and flexibility for shooting in the harshest of environments.

This scope’s quality is far greater than what its price might suggest. Available within the budget price range ($100 – $300), it has the functionality to go with its great price. For those on a budget, we truly believe that this scope is the best for the money.

Main Competitors

That said, let’s take a look at what the competition has to offer because you can make a more informed purchase decision that way.

Nikon XR Crossbow ScopeNikon XR Crossbow Scope

The Nikon XR Crossbow Scope is built especially for crossbows. This black matte crossbow scope has a BDC 60 reticle that provides precise aiming points up to 60 yards. It provides an actual magnification of 3x to 32x. Due to the fully multi-coated lenses, it offers a 92% brightness and contrast. With its lightweight design, the Nikon Bolt XR will fit any crossbow design.

The Nikon 40mm Bolt XR has fine optics that provide you with a clear vision, and its fogproof and waterproof characteristics add to this scope’s fine features. This is a great crossbow scope with zero-reset sighting turrets and an excellent 3.4-inch eye relief.

The zero-reset turrets will allow you to sight-in 20 yards, and its simple adjustments will make it easy to remember your sight-in point. For optimum accuracy, the large ocular with a quick focus eyepiece and the parallax focus of 20 yards, sum up the pros for this scope.

However, there are some downsides we’ve found. These are related to the fact that the scope comes with no horizontal sighting lines, just dots, which are hard to see and reticles are not illuminated.

Similarly with the Redfield, the rings are missing, so you will have to buy them extra. And just so you know, this also comes with a Lifetime Warranty.

UTG 4×32 Crossbow ScopeUTG 4x32 Crossbow Scope

With 32 mm objective lens and a fixed magnification set at 4x, the UTG 4×32 Crossbow Scope offers a great experience in terms of accuracy for first-time users. This scope weighs 12.3 ounces and is 8.19 inches long with a 1-inch standard tube.

With an excellent price of about $75, this gear is durable and effective.

The UTG 4×32 crossbow scope’s durability is also offered by the shockproof True Strength, rainproof and anti-fog technology, it also fits perfectly to any crossbow rail.

Another great feature is that this scope offers a comfortable Eye Relief of 3.8 inches and an excellent clarity of a parallax-free of 50 yards. If you are wondering how the optics are performing, these are fully multi-coated.

However, the scope has five horizontal marks crossing the diameter of the eyepiece, specifically designed for 300 fps crossbows with integrated rangefinder lines. The field of view is also large, with 27.2 feet of terrain at 100 yards.

First choice users can take advantage of this certain scope, as the reticle offers a red and green illumination experience for quick and easy target acquisition. It also offers a premium zero-lockable and zero-resettable target windage and elevation turrets, complete with flip-open lens caps. With two quick detach lever lock scope rings and integral sunshade it blocks glare and enhances the view.

The scope is also very easy to mount, as it comes with the ring included. With a great battery life, this Crossbow scope offers an enhanced use time, allowing first-time users to take time perfecting their skills.

No complete review comes without any downsides.

However, at this price, you cannot complain about much and the only downsides we’ve been able to find are linked to the fact that the scope doesn’t have any bolt speed compensation adjustments and that the five lines crossing the diameter could create some disturbance.

Overall, it’s a great scope, and yes, you’ve guessed it! It also comes with a Lifetime Warranty.

Hawke Crossbow 1.5-5×32 IR SR ScopeHawke Crossbow 1.5-5x32 IR SR Scope

The Hawke Crossbow 1.5-5×32 IR SR Scope is a high-performance crossbow specific scope with 1-inch optics. This scope is fully multi-coated and provides multi-level of light transmission.

When it comes to durability, it’s shockproof, water resistant and nitrogen purged. This scope can be easily used on any crossbow, and it has the capability of firing up from 250 to 425 fps. It comes with a speed selector, and what is great is that it offers a clear view in low light, giving you the chance to hunt at night.

Even though it’s not the cheapest scope on the market, at about $200, it shows high-performance optics with a 1.5-5x and 32 mm lens diameter for increased light transmission. This model has a green and red illumination that provides a crisp and clear image. The RS scope is easy to use and shows the optimum accuracy, it also comes with capped turrets, and its durability is proved by its fog proof, waterproof and shockproof features.

To complete its optical performance, we highlight 11-layer, multi-coated optics that improves the color fidelity, the contrast, and overall image brightness. The field of view is wide, meaning 75 – 22.5 inches at 100 yards. The partially illuminated duplex style, the zeroed range of 20 yards, adjustable calibration for slow and fast bolts are only a few of the reticle details.

All in one, this scope is a great piece that performs well. However, at this price, it’s not the best on the market and shows distinct features with the Redfield Revenge scope.

Overview

Whether you are a professional hunter or a first time user, the Redfield offers a great experience and quality. At an affordable price, we are convinced it offers the Leupold standard of quality and rises up to the brand name. With an elegant design and durability, it’s a good option for your hunting adventures.

PROS:

  • Easy to zero in
  • Big field of view
  • Very bright in low light
  • High resolution-to-accuracy ratio
  • Controlled brightness
  • Adjustable windage and elevation
 CONS:

  • Rings not included
  • Getting around the rails might be a bit challenging
  • Limited field of view of the extension

Of course, there are some downsides to the Redfield. The 4-Plex Reticle might take some time to get used to. The scope does not include rings, so you might need to get a set of rings that fit its 1-inch tube diameter, and getting your head around the rails needed to mount on different rifles, might be a bit challenging.

Outside of this, it’s a great scope that performs well on any crossbow. We gave our verdict and it’s time for you to make your choice.

Summary

The Redfield Revenge offers high quality rising up to its parent company name. This is a fantastic scope at a great price and the optics are clear and accurate.

The main disadvantage is the limited field of view of the extension. But overall, it’s a pretty nice crossbow scope you’ll get for the price.
